Course Description

The OSHA 10 Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program is intended to teach workers about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards. Some employers, unions, and various other jurisdictions also require workers to have this training to work on job sites and to fulfill their own safety training goals. Groups who have integrated the program into their overall safety and health training plans include the building trades, general contractors, employer associations, unions, insurance companies, and manufacturing firms.

As of March 1st, all workers and supervisors are to be OSHA 10hr trained on NYC construction projects that require a site safety plan (including a construction superintendent). March 1st, 2018, is the first stage of implementation, with final implication requiring a proposed 40hr to 55hr of safety training for workers and between 60 and 75 hrs of safety training for supervisors.
